Humanitarian Trip

The Ryerson Rams womens' volleyball team, including Ajax HS's own Mr.Imperial spent a week in Agua Prieta, Mexico from Dec 16-23.  Imperial, who has been an assistant coach at Ryerson since 2009, joined the Rams in a humanitarian effort working along with the charitble organization, Rancho Feliz.  Over the week long stay, the players and coaching staff helped with a local food distribution, ran free volleyball clinics for the community and helped build a house for a family of 5.

Dustin Reid, head coach and former National Team member, reflected on the amazing week in Mexico:

We had a terrific trip to Agua Prieta. Our hosts Rancho Feliz and the people of Agua Prieta and Sonora province were so wonderful to partner with... The people that we had the opportunity to meet and interact with had so much to teach us. Seeing the hard work and dignity of so many people who are trying to make a better life for their family has had a profound impact on myself and the rest of our team.

Murder Mystery

The Ajax High School Murder Mystery Club, under the direction of Mr. Finn, presented the live theatrical production, “Chinese take- out,” in support of the Ajax High School upcoming China Trip scheduled for March Break 2012.

The production was an immense success; outstanding acting performances, as well as behind the scenes support by students and teachers, Ms. Jardine and Ms. Fu, as well as members of the community made this year’s production one to remember. Local businesses and community fundraising involvement contributed to this week-long event.
